I've worked for american rentals since 02. I really feel for u Rafael. It's not only the lack of customer service but also how American Rentals treats their employees.
I was literally pressured to convince a customer to continue to use the crappy party equipment "we" renten out, in order for the customer to pay to full price.
Sometimes customer service reps. Overbook, let's say a skirt linen. On one ocassion a dirty skirt linen order went out to a customer who reserved that skirt linen in advance.
On the deliveries, american rentals sends out their drivers with literally mentally challenged people, whose job is only to clean floors, thrown trash, and clean toiletts. There is nothing wrong with the mentally challenged working BUT they are not capable of perfoming the same job as the drivers.
I remember a employee being fired, who was mentally challenged, because he complained about being tired during the canopy setups all the time, he obviously couldn't handle it and because of that he was fired! Because he's only job was to clean toillets and pick up the trash!
Driver's don't have a lunch break because the son's owner doesn't think one should eat because "we're running late on a couple of deliveries"
We, customer service reps, are programed to rip off our customer. SOmetimes customer's come back complaining that "our" construction equipment doesn't work for the reasons: A: customer did not know how to work the construction equipment B: Before equpment went out the yard rep. Did not check it C. There's no other excuse, customer has to pay for already broken equipment or has to pay for the full rental. Customers never win and "we take their money.
OH yeah the emergency door is blocked!
In several ocassions the son's boss believes that customer's are supid and overcharges them for something that's far less cheaper.
If ones delivery is placed a day before their event, the customer is charged double for the order.
Son's boss promises new prospects customer's a discount and when those customer's rent from "us" we don't know about the discount and when we ask the son's boss about the discount he denies it.
NO raises at all. I knew a employee there who was promoted to manager and worked his/her ass off and did not get a raised in the two years and when he/her trained all new managers he was demoted to a driver.
There's not a single african american working @ the three stores not a single.
I was pressured to be full time and was given new tasks and did not get a raise.
My husband who had been working there for over 2 years did not get a raise.
My brother in law was paid under the table and he was only 16 years old.
No medical insurance even after working for 3 years.
I was literally harrassed and asked every five minutes what i was doing.
A friend of mine, because she was the daughter of the bosses friend, she obtained medical insurance far more sooner than i did and i have been working there since 2002.
I was accused of stealing money by the son's boss. Son't boss has a stick up his ass. He humiliates his employees and screams at them infront of customers.
There is no human ressouces, if i had a problem with somebody and talked about it with that individual everybody would know about the issue the next day.
Things are very unsanitary like the cones from the snow cones and pop corn bags. Basically everything is old and dirty oh yeah and falling apart. Real shitty i would say. Good thing i don't work there any more and would not advice anbody to rent their pop corn machines, margarita machine, snow cone machine, and chocolate machine, they're so damn dirty.
There's just so many things with such little time there.
Can't forget they's just so ignorant and illogical i don't see how they're still in business. They literally lie to ur face as if we're stupid and incapable of thinking. One would defenately want to quit with in a couple of weeks.
