Ripoff! Mandatory Transfer from Previous AATwireless Account

Is it fair that an innocent consumer gets the short end of the stick when two companies merge together? That is what is happening with the ATTwiress and Cingularwireless merger.

We were happy with our ATTwireless account, however, now that there is no longer an ATTwirelss company we are forced to migrate over to Cingular. We cannot buy new phones or add any mew lines unless we transfer our service to Cingular. This transfer requires a NEW contract for 2 more years and different rate plans!!!

Why is it that they have the right to monopolize the public like that? If I don't like their service, or I want a different phone, I need to cancel early my former ATT contact that ends in August. This cancellation will cost me $175.00 per phone line and I have three!

It appears as long as it is an advantage to Cingular, than we are screwed. This company gets to keep all the ATTwireless customers and is allowed to charge all those customers for new service and equipment... Or is allowed to charge a hefty cancellation fee!

The Attorney General if YOUR state should allow the former ATTwireless customers an early out with out any penalties!
