I also thought I could cancel the subscription I was heavily pressured into. The information I recieved later by mail seemed to confirm this. It said that my subscription did not start until I recieved my first magazines.

Well, I had recieved no magazines when I called to cancel after the company I worked for shut down and I could afford to buy nothing that I couldn't eat or use for shelter. They refused to let me cancel or to allow me to speak to a manager.

They do not have my credit card number, as I was to pay by check. A bill I recieved from them said that I owed my first payment of 41.66 on April 1st. At the beginning of March, I recieved a letter threatening to ruin my credit if I did not pay my "past due" bill.

Furious, I called and spoke to a very nice lady who told me after repeating herself several times in broken English that teh computers had put the wrong dates on things and that I would not be turned over to collections.

So today I got a very snotty letter dated April 2 (one day after the bill was due) saying that my 30 day right to dispute my claim had expired. "You have a debt. We suggest you pay it."
But I did dispute it and I was told I was right. What can I do? I too am nauseated every time I get another magazine in the mail. Someboday make it stop! Please!
