Recieved a phone call from CMS (Consolidated Media Services) telling me that I had won a sweepstakes, and would be recieving free watches. All I had to do to claim the watch and sweepstakes was to order magazines at a discounted publisher's price.
After I received a conformation on the magazines, I received a phone call telling me I would be unable to cancel the subscription. Not only could I not cancel, they did not even give a number or address that they could be reached at. The magazines came about 2 months late and I NEVER recieved the free watches or sweepstakes winning. Later after paying in whole (around $400) I received a late notice from CMS stating they were going to report me the credit bureas.
I called the bogus 800 number on the bill only to come in contact with a women who stated that she had received many phone calls about Consolidated Media Services and that her place of business was a legitamate business. She requested the name and number of the company on the bill that I had received.
To find the legitamate number for CMS I had to browse the web under the Better Business Bureau to find their number and make a long distance phone call to find out what was going on. They told that I was billed in error, but could not tell me why they had a bogus 800 number on the bill. Real nice way to conduct a quote, unquote, legitamate business.
