Miss Latina ad fee scam ripoff

I competed in the 2005 Miss Latina World Competition. I received the title of Miss Congenialty. Here is my story:

As part of my eligibilty i had to provide Dawn Warner with a 1/2 page ad for the amount of $650.00. We were to try and get businesses to sponsor us by advertising so that the fee wouldn't have to come directly out of my pocket.

Getting close to the deadline, i asked Dawn Warner productions if i could be reimbursed if i paid the fee out of pocket becuase i had a possible sponsorship but the funds would not be available in time to secure my spot.

So I paid the $650.00 out of pocket and then handed Dawn Warner herself the business check made out to them for $650.00 when i arrived at the competition in Texas.

I was told I would be reimbursed as soon as the check cleared. That was in July it is now January and i still have not received my money.

For 4 months after the pageant, Dawn Warner gave me the run around about why my check had not been received, then stopped all communications with me in November.

I have kept every email communication between myself and that company and plan to take them to court if necessary to not only receive the $650.00 the rightfully owe me, but also, compensation for the financial distress this whole ordeal has caused me.

Stay away from this company they are no good and have no business ethic!!
