My father, mother and I moved to our new home in August. When we moved our phones were transferred. My room, I didn't like where the phone was so SBC sent their workers to drill a whole and I was given a separate phone number that was unlisted as is my father's. Well, given my work schedule (I work for 2 doctors). I had that phone unlisted. Around the time of January. My father and brother had placed and order for some service while the workers were here they called me at work and asked me if I really needed my own number or if I just wanted to go back to the main number my parents. I said "oh drop my number for the cost I can just use mother and father's and don't really need it. I have my cell and a pager." So from that
point on I had my parents number. All my friends and bosses can vouch for that. They called me on that. When I had friends over to watch our favorite shows and some other friends on speaker it was on my parents number... I did not ever use that other number and truthfully forgot it.
It was not until my mother's recent death. When we were all so lost. You see I asked for the day off for myself and she was fine then she passed out on me and died. I could not save her. My father didn't pay the bills, so I looked at them and I see this bill for last month and after I paid it I ask the customer agent at the payment office 800-616-1171. And paid the bill in full and all the sudden I saw the phone number we disconnect 2 years earlier being charged at $44.00 plus a fee for non published listing for $4.95. So here I am paying for a phone number I don't have and for it being unpublished so I did the math and for 2 years. My father was paying $ 118.80 for an unpublished phone he had terminated 2 years off and for 2 years he was paying $ 1102.20 for services for a phone that their service people turned off and put my parents phone on in my room. For a grand total of $ 1221.00.
In my e mail today I told them (my bill this month is $60.00 that they can take this and next months balance off the $1221.00 and also they can use that balance on my sister's bill for this month and next. If they do not take this offer. I will take this to the DA and press charges for theft by fraud. I also told them I am friends w / an executive producer at 60 minutes
which was a perk for working with such a very well known doctor and got to meet some of the legends at a very high rated and long standing news show and would not hesitate to call her as she is very tough and fair. I said that would be a great story because your representive said to me "well if your father got the bill and paid it it's not our fault". She messed w / the wrong person. My father is grieving and I don't let anyone mess w / my family so I e mailed them and told them I would take a polygraph as to my conversation w / their employee and it would look funny to America if she didn't. So they had better look for their books when they send their workers out because their employee said they only keep records for 6 months... But when they want money they will archive records back 100 years I'm sure.
And last... Vanessa then had my phone in my room diconnected. But I pick my battles and I'll take that one on when they get served.
