I just had some difficulty placing an order on the Northstyle.com website paying with a gift certificate. I did not see gift certificate listed as a payment option on the website drop-down menu, so I called the customer
service number found in the catalog.
I spoke with a lady about placing an order using the
gift certificate, but she struck me as not knowing
what she was doing since she had to put me on hold
twice before beginning the order, and then cut me off
in the middle of me trying to give her my street
address. I asked to speak with her supervisor as I
had concerns that my order would not be processed
correctly by this employee and I wanted to place my
order with someone who know what she was doing.
When I was transferred to the "supervisor, " I started
out saying that I didn't know if she were actually the
supervisor, and this lady then cut me off and yelled
at me, "Excuse me! You are being very insulting! I am
not the janitor!"
I do not see how and why this lady should be insulted
that I ask if she were the supervisor, or what is so
insulting about being a janitor. I happen to feel
that being a janitor is very honorable work.
Obviously, this lady does not think think so because
she began screaming at me.
All I was trying to do is process an order and have a
modicum of surety that what I paid for was going to be
sent to the correct address and the payment would go
through. Why do I have to access a website and speak
to more than one person on the telephone to do this?
Since the so-called supervisor was quite hostile, I
did not have a sense of security that she would handle
my order properly, so I asked to speak to her
supervisor. She would not tell me her name. Only
that she was "Sandy" and "I don't have to tell you
anything!"
She put me on hold and then told me that her
supervisor would not speak to me. Then she hung up.
What is wrong with your operation over there? I have
STILL not been able to place an order, after calling
back AGAIN! I am CC'ing my mother-in-law on this
email, since she was the one who gave me a northsyle
catalog and bought me a gift certificate for my
birthday. I am telling all of my friends and
relatives not to do business with this company since I
have grave concerns about what kind of security my
order would be treated with. It is too bad that my
mother-in-law spent her hard-earned money buying this
gift certificate that I have been unable to redeem.
What a lousy gift.
I will actually be quite surprised if my complaint does not land itself immediately into a trash can at their
"office" considering the experience I have had with
Northstyle so far.
