My wife and I are a low income family that tries to make every dollar stretch as far as we can. The federal gov. Says that we make less than people living in poverty.
Our telephone service is provided at a special low income rate, which we do appreciate.
We make 1 or 2 long distance phone calls each month which are "in state" calls. We have no need to call out of the state of Ca.
This month, Aug. 05, our verizon bill came with a $16.21 additional charge. We did not know for what. After looking farther we found that Integretel was added to the bill. It was a charge for "New Service Provider", "Nationwide Voice Messaging 1X Set Up Fee" $16.21.
Can they legally do this? What do I do to stop this fee we can not afford?
