I ordered Dish network last year. The VMC term and conditions mentioned that I'll be making one year commitment with Dish network. Threfore, I assumed that I'm making one year commitement with Dish Network, not VMC sateLlite. I never signed any contract the VMC satellite. Sometime in April this year, I received a mail from dish network stating that my plan will be increased by $2. So I called Dish network and ask why they are raising my subscription fee since I'm on contract. A customer service rep. From dish network told me that I dont have any contract with dish network. Therefore, I cancelled the subscription in April. I received an email from VMC Satellite stating that I owe $290.00 early termination fee. And If I dont pay within 5 days, It will be send to the collection agency.
Fortunately, I opened my junk mail folder or else I would never know find out about the email. I called Dish netwOrk right away to find out what's going on. They said I dont have any contract with them. However, I may have contract with VMC Satellite. I asked her why I wasn't told about this when I cancelled my subscription. Dish Network simply ignored my question by telling me that I may have "Third Party retailer" Contract and they are not responsible for this. I explained to dish network that I've conducted so many business with "third party retailer". And primary retailer is always aware of the contract. For example, I have ordered SBC DSL through Dell.com (Third party retailer). I've contract with SBC for 1 year. When I call SBC, they are aware that I have one year contract with them even though it is ordered through third party retailer. Unfortunately, Dish Network never mentioned that I have one year contract even though it is ordered through the VMC Satellite. I called VMC Satellite. He also mention the same thing as Dish Network rep. Told me. He said I had two different contracts and I have to pay or it will go on collection. I asked him the same question why I was not told when I ordered that I have two different contract. Very bad company with hidden scams. Stay away from vmc satellite!!!
