1st Credit Of America - My Clear Credit - My Perfect Credit
Fradulent debt ripoff, illegal collection practices, harrasing phone calls

As with many others that have filed usacomplaints.com about this company, I also started receiving the harrassing phone calls about 2 weeks ago. Since they were computer generated I blew them off my answering machine. I finally got so annoyed that I returned the call to see what this was all about.

I was immediatly told that I owed $59.95 to My Perfect Credit (whom I was never a customer of) for cancellation of their services. Evidently according to them I didn't read the fine print. All they kept pushing for was my credit card to resolve the debt so it would not hurt my credit rating. I asked them if they were a collection agency, and was told that they were hired by My Perfect Credit/Clear Credit before it would be handed over to a collection agency. At which time it would affect my credit rating.

I told them I wanted to see a detailed bill and was told I would be provided one once I provided my credit card for the payment. I kept telling them I would not give my credit card number. They told me they had sent me several advices but I must have just thrown them away thinking they were junk mail. I informed the woman that I open all my mail and then shred it, I never received an invoice.

I asked to speak to her supervisor who was even ruder than she was. He yelled and talked over me for about 10 minutes and then at the end he said are you going to give me your credit card now so that we can resolve this. Of course I did not give it, I told him I needed to call My Perfect Credit myself.

I started to research this company and this website came up. From the information that I got from others reports, I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in California and spoke to the Attorney Generals Office in Illinois. As of 8/9/05 they had 23 complaints filed against 1st Credit of America and just a few against Clear Credit and My Perfect Credit.

I did, at one time in 2003 order a credit report from Clear Credit but cancelled the service.in March of this year my credit card was charged with a $9.95 fee from My Perfect Credit. I immediately called them to dispute the charge.

I was informed that My Perfect Credit had bought out Clear Credit and that they evidently had some type of computer problem with the accounts. I was told they would issue me a credit. The following month no credit but I did get charged again and then again the following month. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Fortuneatly I did save an email that My Perfect Credit had sent me when I filed the thrid dispute with them.

I returned the email and told them that I was not now, or ever, a customer of My Perfect Credit. That they had fraudulantly charged my credit card and that I was filing complaints against them with the Attorney Generals Office of both CA and IL. The harrassing phone calls were to stop immediatly or I was going to file a complaint with the FCC.

The next morning, to my shock, I got an email back from them saying that my account had been removed from collections with 1st Credit of America but that it could take up to 15 days for the calls to stop. I have not received a call in the last two days, here's hoping.

Today I received an email that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Clear Credit in Federal Court of New Orleans, Louisiana on behalf of consumers who purchased credit repair services from Palisdades Holding, LLC d/b/a ClearCredit or ClearCredit.com, ("ClearCredit")."A settlement of the lawsuit could affect you if you purchased credit repair services from ClearCredit before the date of August 19. If you qualify, you may send in a claim form by September 26 to receive free credit repair services and assistance in obtaining free credit reports."

These people are all over out there and need to be stopped.
