Yesterday, I was contacted by Kathy Varbour claiming to be collecting $59.95 for a credit report that I supposedly ordered over the internet. When I denied that I ordered or received it, she told me the last four digits of my social security number and said she doubted that anyone else had done it. When I told her I intended to file complaints with the FTC, Illinois Attorney General and the Credit Bureaus she got belligerent and threatened to have her client take this to the "next level".
When I asked her for the name and number of ther "client" she refused. She called me from 312-604-3730 but gave a call back number of 866-5050-2632 extension 3730.
I filed a police report, an FTC complaint, a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and the Consumer Fraud Department of Chicago, a credit watch with the credit bureaus, and, sent letters disputing this charge to the three credit bureaus.
