Don't fall for it! CAMCO is a high pressure scam. They told me I owed Bank of America money from 1989. Bank of America (Credit Card Recovery Services - (CA) 888-299-1158) informed me that my Social Security number doesn't exist in any of their databases (including archived) and the account number that CAMCO provided was NOT one of theirs.
But, be very aware, this company CAN submit the false information to the credit report bureaus if they choose. It is UP TO YOU to watch your credit and dispute it if it does appear.
For the sake of others out there, contact the Illinois State Attorney General Office at 312-814-3000 and file a complaint. (it must be in writing). As of this writing, they have 251 complaints on file about the company. They need to be taught they cannot threaten nor intimidate you into paying them money you may not owe.
