On 8/03/07 i contaced a 1 americian to repair my air conditing unit i was promised a tech by3.00pm
he showed up in a in his personal van with a sticker on the van (heating cooling 474-2200) and had a pad of a1 american invoices and said he was a new tech that why he had no company truck or id.
Tech name he said jim b.
Mr graham told the tech what the problem was and that the indoor unit was working properly, including all fans and controls. So the tech went to the back yard and started to take the unit panel door off to gain access to the electronics and when he got the door off, he said the problem is with the contacts that when the thermostat sends the siginal to the contacts it starts the compressor and outdoor unit go on.
He kept fumbling and chaging the wiring on the contacts many times i told him that there was a diagram on the access panel he removed, he a said these are all the same i have done many of these.
He wired the contacts and installed the part back into the unit and was told the price was 450.00 to replace contacts, why so high you are paying for my insurance and milage on my van, and my ss and disibility and parts stock in my van.
He went and put the outdoor unit together and turned the unit on and it would not work then he wanted to look at the indoor unit when he took the panel off the indoor unit he said that he found the problem the indoor unit has a bad transformer mr graham asked what would it cost the tech said 450.00 to replace the transformer mr graham asked the tech what if this will not work and the tech said the thermostat cost is 500.00 mr graham said this is out of control amd i will get the the transformer and repair this my self the tech said i have the part i will sell you the part for 100.00. The real cost of the transformer is 20.00, contacts 20.00, thermostat 125.00 i replaced the part on saturday and the unit still did not work so i called a 1 american twice on sat and sunday with no reply. On monday i called and talked to steve nash at a1 american and he said that his tech did his work correct and it would not cause the indoor unit to malfunction and he would
stand by his tech work si mr graham said that he was going to the media and and anybody who would listen mr nash replied they spend 100.000 in the media and no one would listen to me.
Mr nash would notsend any body out to check my unit so i called several companys and i found one that would come out and work on my unit and then came out and the tech worked on my unit for about 4 1/2 hours to tell me that the contacts were wired wrong and burned up contacts and the transformer and thermostat and he repaired the unit and got the unit working and it cost us less than a 1 american charged
