My Husband and I signed up for two $16.95 per month plans from an offer received in the mail. For a while the bills didn't come at all, then we received huge bills on both accounts. When we tried to pay them we couldn't reach live persons and the automated system didn't match the bills we received by mail. When we persisted until we did reach live persons, we made credit card payments and were given worthless confirmation numbers that assured us that we had caught up with the payments. We called two days after the one year was up, on January 22, and cancelled both accounts. Unfortunately, they didn't post the closing on one of the accounts. Someone from the company called on February 10, and gave us another "updated" bill, and again my husband paid by credit card and received another confirmation number. I called February 25, and the number was there, but not the amount, and the total bill was, again, much higher, with no payment amounts recorded on the date of the credit card. I was told that only one account was closed, but since I had closed one account on the 22nd, this representative would close the remaining account and back date the closing date to the 22nd. Today I called and discovered that it had been closed but that it was closed on February 5, when my husband made the so-called "final payment and received the usless confirmation number. So the bill, of course has been increasing. The posted amount to either account doesn't match, so I think it doesn't reflect the most recent payment. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told she wasn't there in the middle of the afternoon at Eastern Standard time. This person refused to backdate the closure since there was no note asking to close the account. She would file that request with her supervisor or someone and they would call me back. We haven't made even one telephone call from either account since December and the monthly payments are 37.00 on one, and 26.00 on the other. The automated billing system amounts paid and amounts charged do not match what I have in my hand for the same time period. You can call the same number and be connected only to an automated system, or eventually by copius use of redial, to another voice with different choices and the choice of speaking to a live body. After a very long wait you can speak to the unhelpful person. It takes at least an hour to reach someone. I have no idea when we will finally be finished with this company—or what to do to stop the totals and the bills from coming. I think Worldcom Wireless is the worst managed company I've ever had contact with.
