Cross Country Bank
I never activated the card and they keep charging me. Rip-off fraud, liars

In November, I recieved a call about getting a Visa card. I said no, but the woman I spoke to said it wouldn't be activated until I called a toll-free number and entered my pin number. I agreed if the card wouldn't be activated until I called.

In December, I recieved a bill for $100.00 for the activation fee. I tried to find a toll free number to call, but couldn't so I put off calling until after Christmas.in January, I recieved a bill for $150.00, for late fees and a notice that I would be reported as a bad credit risk. I sent them a money order for $150.00, and received a letter in the mail saying my credit card had been cancelled.

Thinking this was a rip-off I called the bank in early February. I had also received another bill from them saying I now owed $185.00. The woman I spoke to said I was mistaken about the call I had received in November, that the card was activated when I said I would accept it.

The activation fee was $100.00, and I had been cancelled because of no activity on the card and no payment. They were showing a $150.00 payment when I spoke to this woman. I asked how there could be any activity on the card when I never received a card. She claimed a card had been sent to my home address and nothing had been returned to the bank.

I again said I had never received a card. She said she would re-activate my account and send me a card. I never received a card. I called again and spoke to a different person on 2-22. She changed my account number and said a card had been sent to my address and I should be receiving it in a couple of days.

In the mail on Saturday, 2-23-02, I received my personal ID number (PIN) but no Visa card. There was a message with my PIN number saying that my new Visa card should be in my possession or to call them immediately. I've been trying to call them "immediately" but can't get through.

I still have no Visa card, have paid $150.00 so they wouldn't ruin what credit I have and am very angry. Three (3) times I've been told that a Visa card has been sent to my home, and I have paid $150.00 to them. And I still owe them $35.00 which will probably have late charges attached.
