I received in my mailbox a 5x8 white card stating "Credit Approval Notification" in large print and an activation number of 3088750. The card had my full name typed at the top of the card and a red Final Notice sign posted at the bottom. The card was to notify me of a approval for my very own Visa card that was not yet activated with a credit limit up to $2,5000.
I called 1-800-371-1838 and spoke with a receptionist who encouraged me to accept the credit card offer and to pay a $230 to receive a merchant card not the Visa credit card. I was promised that if I pay the $230 with and accept the merchant card, that they would report my name to the credit agencies and banks, and those facilities would send me a Visa or Mastercard automatically. The receptionist assured me that I would not have to pay any additional processing fees to these reporting bank and credit facilities.
I have been calling the company for two months and an automated voice responds as follows "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to take your call". I have not yet received any credit cards, nor been able to cancel my so called merchant membership to receive my money back. I feel robbed, cheated, and it is hard for me to accept any other offers from honest credit card companies because of this incident.
