MCi WorldCom ripoff. There is no excuse for this

I have experienced many difficulties with WorldCom Wireless. It was to the point that I was receiving numerous phone calls during the day, every hour, while I'm at work, but no messages were ever left (I have caller ID). They finally called on Tuesday evening. I didn't get the girls name, as I couldn't understand it. She said that I had an outstanding balance & was wondering if I hadn't already, when I would be sending my check for my outstanding balance.

I simply told her that I wasn't. I explained to her that I was a WorldCom employee & that the director of our center had sent a spreadsheet to management regarding all of the issues that different employees here were having with their bills. I explained that I had asked that the phone be turned off & the account closed on May 7. I also told her that it took them over 3 months to actually turn my phone off & that the last bill I received stated charges through November when my phone had supposedly been turned off since May. I told her that the last I heard, back in July or August was that I had a $34.00 credit.

I of course never received a check from WorldCom Wireless for that credit, but now have an outstanding balance of around $700.00. I also told her that I gave someone my new address back in June, the last bill I received from them was sent to my previous address, they never actually made any changes to my account. I truly believe that they do not remark their systems at all as to when someone calls & what actions are to be taken. The lady that called me was calling from the collections department. She said that all she could do was "note" the account.

I told her to note it & note it well and turn it over to management, but her response was only that all she could do was "note" the account. I once again told her to do that and said good bye. I couldn't believe that they have turned this over to the collections department, which is now going to affect my credit report. There is no excuse for this. Nobody has tried to contact me before this to discuss this, and now they have turned it over to collections.

I have never done business with a company that has such bad business practices.

I am refusing to pay WorldCom Wireless any more money! When I signed the contract with them, it was under the understanding that I would be provided a monthly statement, and customer service. I never received either of those, so they have breeched their own contract with me. Every time I tried to contact customer service, I was either was on hold for over an hour, one day I had them on speaker phone & was on hold for 2 1/2 hours and still never got to speak with anyone, or received a message that said, due to the high volume of calls at this time, we are unable to assist you, please try your call again later and then was disconnected.
