Federated relocation never told us that they weren't an actual moving company. We didn't find that out until they arrived and it was someone completely different. After they had my stuff they then dramatically changed the prices that we had to pay and started adding addition charges (for example $250 extra per floor after 2nd floor, $250 extra if the truck wasn't able to get within a certain distance from building).
They also started changing the delivery date after they had my stuff and at one point made the delivery date a day earlier than my original date and when I said that I didn't have any place to put my stuff so they needed to wait a day, they said they were going to charge me hotel fees for the drivers, and other additional fees. We were able to argue our way out of most of the extra later fees.
They also damaged almost everything that wasn't in a box and some of it beyond repair. I wouldn't be that upset if it 1 or 2 things but it was numerous items showing em that they took absolutley no care with my belovings. The shattered my bed frame and split one of the legs of my kitchen table. When I filed a complaint with them they said they would only pay for $112.20 which is no where close to the cost of the damaged items.
This basically means that they can do anything they want to my items and give nothing in return. I am trying to figure out what I can do to make them cover more of the damaged items? But as of right now it seems like I can't do a whole lot and from looking on other sites it seems this is not uncommon for this company.
