My mother is/was moving from Durango, Colorado to Moab, Utah to take a position at a new job. She hired Precision Moving because they promised her a "locked in" price for moving her at $1200. She paid them a deposit of $244 via credit card with the expressed promise that they would be there on Sat. April 9th. I went down to help her pack and be there when the truck showed up.
Well Saturday was rolling by and no truck. She called the company and left a message. We left for a few minutes and when we returned there was a message left that the truck had broke down and had to return (return where we may never know).
My mother then called them back and got another rep. And he said the truck was hung up in Portland, Oregon due to some home closing problems. The rep. Assured her that the truck would be in Durango Sunday evening at the latest and the rep. Also assured her that the truck drivers would contact her. None the less no call and no truck. She then called Precision Movers early Monday morning and yet got another excuse that the truck was stuck in Denver. From Portland to Denver, funny route. She was then assured by the rep. That he would speak to his boss.
Here we are Monday night, the roads from Denver to Durango are open and no truck, no calls, nothing. Now she is losing wages because this moving company is giving her the royal run-arounds of run-arounds. My mother is not wealthy and she moved heaven and Earth to get the money together to get this move done. Now she is sitting in Durango with the phone, electricity and gas shut off waiting for a truck that may not even show up.
