My grandaughter received notification of being a winner in a poetry contest. She was so happy she cried and trembled with excitement. Since she could not afford to order copies of the books promised I agreed to pay with my Visa. On 11/30/04 the $159.75 charge went on my account.
A day or two later my granddaughter who had done some more research on the internet called to tell me she had found out the company was bogus. I tried to cancel the sale through my Visa company but was told the charge had already gone through and I needed to deal with the company payment was sent to.
I have not been able to get in touch with the company. I have been waiting for the books to be sent so I could return them and request a refund but no books have been delivered.
I cannot afford the eat the loss on this and I am very angry that my granddaughter was lied to. We are honest people and do not expect to be treated this way.
