I have signed up to do surveys and mystery shops over the Internet. I feel that what happened was that I responded to some sites and showed interest in their product so I could get credit for the survey.
I think to the best of my knowledge I did not give out my card information to the people cited above and so it is difficult for me to understand how this could happen.
I did sign up for three free offers from various sites but I used a credit card so I could monitor the card activity separate from my checking account.
Deductions of $35, $30 and $29 were deducted from my checking account. As near as I can pinpoint the deductions were made on the corresponding days of the trials.
I notified my bank of the first one I spotted and I found two more when I got my bank statement over the Internet and rectified my account. I have not called about the other two payments but will after I have submitted this report.
