I was fully aware of two magazine subscriptions that came up for renewal in October of however, my credit card statement showed that I was charged twice for each magazine renewal. Upon calling the magazine to have the extra charges taken off my card, I too just wound up going in circles on the phone and NSS Magazine website.
I had given up getting the money back until today when I was going through my old Google searches and saw the link to NSS Magazines. I figured I'd try one more time and Google brought me to a link for usacomplaints.com. Reading the first few stories, I thought that NSS was a total scam, however, reading the stories of people who actually got through and had their situations corrected, I realized that they just (intentionally or unintentionally) make it difficult to contact them directly.
Following the instructions left by people on your website, I did call the 800 number and kept hitting "0" until the system asks if you want to speak to an operator (warning you, though, that you might be on hold for a long time... About 10 seconds for me). The NSS customer service person was very helpful and removed the extra charges from my credit card. I don't normally post notes on any message boards, but I just wanted to say thanks to your website for bringing this problem to light, and thanks to those who took the time to explain how to get through.
