2I noticed charges on my credit card for magazines that I did not want. I recall a long time ago being offered 'free' subscriptions over the internet after I bought something. Anyway, I don't recall getting a renewal notice or offer letter of any kind, but the subscriptions were renewed and charged to my card, four magazine in total.
All that I saw on my statement was something like this:
Twx*l6h046*pc magazine 800-496-3740 va
Here is what you need to do to reverse this: call NSS Subscriptions at 1-888-321-6247. There is a catacomb of voice driven menu questions - fear not - press # a few times and you will be transfered to a human being who can help. Make sure that you demand to cancel the subscriptions and have the charges reversed.
Their 'hardened' customer 'service' people were helpful, if slightly reluctant - they would only remove subscriptions that I had the names of, they wouldn't tell me all the magazines that they had charged me for. They said that they would cancel the subscriptions and reverse the charges - they said it may take a couple of statements. We will see if this occurs or not.
Good luck.
PS - you can always call the magazine that you have been subscribed to and ask them for the number of the service that subscribed you - they will give you their phone number to call.
