My family had a Vision visit on Oct 14, the total visit cost with exams, glasses and purchase of contact lenses cost 605.90 that was paid in full. We submitted to our carrier Cigna Insurance for reimbursement and Cigna Insurance mistakenly sends a check to the above named provider (Spare Pair) the provider refuses to send check back to Cigna or send payment to us. Cigna stops payment and the Provider claims mistake made on their part, we were not charged correctly for vision exam, therefore wants to keep payment.
We feel this is their mistake, how can you recharge a patient 5 months later because of an error they find when they receive a check from Cigna INS that was sent by mistake. When we first went in for this exam, it was explained that vision coverage was in the Cigna plan so therefore we were asked to make payment at that time and we would then submit to our INS.
We were asked to pay the co pay of $10 and therefore this is what was charged considering the total cost of visit was $605.90. This is how it was written; now they want to keep money that was already paid by the consumer because it was not written correctly on the receipts? We feel that this is their error and we should not have to pay this.
The office manager was very unprofessional by hanging up on the phone. Cigna INS then informed them they were sent the reimbursement check in error. The money was paid in full for services rendered.
2nd problem - $215 glasses broke, taken back on 2/19/05, the office manage refuse to fix until we pay for the mistake that they made back in October by not charging enough for the vision exam?
We would like the Invincilites glasses repaired under the warranty with no charge and copies of all vision prescriptions (Sandy, Courtney & Brittany) forwarded to our home address. We have spent a lot of money in this establishment for many years and to be treated this way is unacceptable.
We would like to resolve this in a timely manner. We feel that they have made a mistake that we should not have to pay for. The glasses should be fixed without charge.
