I responded to an email offer on 2/18/05 from Myperfectcredit.com. The offer stated that the company would provide free access to my credit reports and for $6.95 per item, they would remove any erroneous entries from them.
Myperfecrcredit.com also offered a prepaid credit card with no annual fees attached for $29.95. They stated this was a nonrefundable charge and I provided my credit card info to process it.
The scam became evident when I responded to an email sent me by myperfectcredit—after they had charged my card—where they were to provide me a password to provide my access to the credit reports. The password they sent resulted in an error message that it was invalid—and there was no where I could go to problem solve. After multiple attmpts to access the promised info, and waiting overnight to see if they needed time for my password to be entered into their system, I am still getting the same result.
How do I get my credit card purchase refunded and keep these people from usinf the info they now have: My home address, phone number, credit card number—and access to my credit reports?
