In Oct. 2004 I changed the terms of our service agreement over the phone. When reviewing a bill following these changes, I noticed they had overcharged me for many things and had made the wrong types of changes to my account. Afer many phone calls most of the issues were resolved but they were still charging me too much for my additionl line. I had been quoted $9.99 a mo. And I'm being billed for $19.99.
When they refused to correct this I told them to cancel the additional line. I was told this would cost me $150 cancellation charge, because I had a verbal contract with them. My reply was "yes I have a verbal contract with you and it was for $9.99 a month". I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold and they never returned. I called back and the "supervisor" had the same answer. When I asked to speak to his boss he became unprofessional and just kept repeating that "his decesion would stand no matter who I talked to". I again told him that I no longer required his assistance and to please connect me with his supervisor. Once again I was put on hold and never returned to.
So they have nothing in writing stating that I agreed to $19.99 a month for my additional line and if I cancel I owe a $150 cancellation fee. My bill is NEVER late with them and we have been customers of theirs for over 2 years. I have no recourse. If I refuse to pay the $150 they will ruin my credit.
