Having bought a set of top of the range carbon ZIPP 202s less than 6 months ago, imagine how surprised I was to discover a massive chunk of carbon pealing off the back rim.
I was even more surprised when, after taking the damaged rim to the dealer, the local importer/agent dismissed my warranty claim outright, with the excuse that I broke the rim. Surprised and shocked is more like it, I guess, that a R20 000.00 set of bicycle wheels becomes useless less than six months after purchase. I always used the proper carbon-specific Zipp break pads and I didn't fall off my bike, just rode probably about 1200km in total.
The fact that ZIPP refuses to warrant their product is disgusting and a warning to all out there before you go out and splurge your hard earned cash on a set of carbon wheels. I for one will never, ever purchase a ZIPP product ever again!
