I tried to return a catalog order because the slacks I bought continued to look worse with each washing. I had to respond to several emails from Talbots asking me for additional information so they could process my credit. After I did not hear from them for several weeks, I emailed customer service and was told they decided to just send the slacks back to me since more than 90-days had passed.
Given the price of these slacks, they should have maintained their condition for years. I would have appreciated Talbots letting me know that they were not going to issue a credit.
I have worn Talbots clothing since I was a child. I am now in my 60's and have noticed a significant decline in the quality of their merchandise. After this most recent experience, I feel the same about their customer service. Talbots has always stood by their products. Obviously this is no longer the case so I will be looking for another place to shop.
