I received a bill from Talbots with a due date of 4/27.
The interest rate was very high 22.90% so I paid the bill in full a day early, on 4/26. Their online bill payment system would not credit my payment on the payment date of 4/26, it credited the payment on 4/28.
They then charged a $29.00 "Late Fee"
When I complained I got a form letter from D.W. Bowing at Corporate Customer Service saying they considered the payment late and would not refund the $29.00 fee. Needless to say they lost a customer of 15 years and I will not shop there again.
Basically, I do not need Talbots.
In today's economy when so many businesses are struggling I resent being fined for paying my bill, in full, a day early. They are misleading. There should be a class action suit to find out how often Talbots does this and than money should be refunded to Talbots customers.
