Poor custumer service and unwillingness to refund - Vans Hightops

Journeys, the shoe company, that also sells other assortments, sold my wife some high tops with a "Slasher" design on December 26. They were a size 12 in men's and had never been wore until today, March 15. I wanted to finally wear them so I tried them on and they didn't fit, so naturally, we wanted them returned for a larger size. My wife called in explaining the ordeal and the manager had said they could have a larger size shipped in to their store for a trade to be made. We went to the mall a hour and a half later to give them the current shoes and the manager went into his system and then told us that the size we needed had just been sold to another store. Firstly, wouldn't you think to reserve the shoes knowing we would go and return the shoes for a bigger size? But, understanding that mistakes could be made, my wife then asked if we could have our money put back onto her credit card so we could possibly go to Vans and see if they had the shoe in a bigger size or they could let us know when the size needed came in and the trade could be made. But no, the manager wouldn't allow the nor give us our money back, so instead he forced a gift card onto us, meaning we can only use it at that store, and no refund what so ever. Well, if we found the shoes in another store with the right size, what were we to do? Nothing. We took the ridiculous card and gave them the shoes and later called the custumer service line out in Tennessee. That wasn't much of help. We basically got the same "Ring-around-the-rosy" Bullcrap we had gotten at the store, but that lasted 45 minutes, if not more (mostly on hold). So, come to the end, the customer service guy, named Jason, said he could give us our refund IF we sent in the shoes, in the box they were shipped in, with the paper the box was wrapped in, and all the other crap no one would keep. So finally I said, screw it, I'll take matters into my own hands and you'll regret screwing me over. So I'd like to say now, buying their products would be a waste do to their customer mistreatment and their crap they spew. If you try and return something to them, let this be a warning, IT WILL BE USELESS.
