Credit First National Association (Firestone Auto Maintenance Credit Card)
AKA the Firestone card issued by Credit First National Association Very Poor Customer Service while trying to get approved for the Firestone Card

I am filing a complaint against Credit First National Association that issues the Fierstone Auto Maintenance Credit Card. I applied online on January 6 on the financial instituation's website in hopes of getting the card to help me improve my credit history. I was told they were bankruptcy friendly. Although I had reestablished quite much, I wanted to add an store card to my credit file to rebuild my credit more. However, After filing my application online, I was immediately directed to call an 800 number to speak with someone about my credit application. After being on the phone for over twenty minutes and answering questions, I was told that my application had been denied and that I would receive a letter stating why within 7-10 days. I finally a little over a week later received the letter of denial. The letter stated that I was denied credit because of insufficient credit history. I immediately called the company to find out what was going on. I am by the way a 50 year old with a well established credit history! I spoke with the representative who confided in me that they also pulled an Transunion bureau report and attempted to approve my application while verifying my Equifax credit file. Although the representative stated that I had great credit and that I did in fact qualify for the Firestone Credit Card, She wasn't able to approve the application. I wrote letters to no avail and contacted Equifax who said more likely that because of the size of my credit file and or because they didn't use my mailing address that probably was the reason they couldn't obtain my Equifax credit report. I have in fact reported this company to severl organizations including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Better Business Bureau to name a few because I don'e feel I should be blame or denied a credit card because the company couldn't get Equifax to send my complete credit file. A couple of intersting facts to mention here is that I was approved for a Target Store Card the same day. A week later, I was also approved for a Velero Shamrock Diamond Gas card. Both of these companies also uses Eqifax credit reports.in addition, I was also able to go online and obtain my own credit report with no problems. Its a very sad day in this country that because of modern technology and automation that we as americans have become so depended on everything our computers says. Would it have really hurt the credit Analyst to have used common sense and contacted the Equifax Bureau to have verify the information received? If I was the Credit analyst and receive a file saying that a 50 year old has no credit, It would of prompted me to make a phone call before out right declining a future customer a credit card.in essence, After reading some of the negative reviews about this company, Maybe its a blessing in disguise that I didn't become a cardholder with this financial institution. The treatment I received wasn't customer service at all! What ever happen to the golden rule which says treat others as you would want to be treated! Its a very sad day also that customer service and respect of others are too much on the decline in this country that I love so dear!!!
