I used a debit card in a payphone at Heathrow Terminal 5 to call a local number. Twice, the automated response told me that the number was unavailable. I may have misdialled the first time, but not the second.
I have been charged 9.19 for each of those attempts to make a call that was never put through. I fear to think what they would have charged if I had made the call.
It is a scandal that this company is used by Heathrow. I live in the UK but it will catch people out who are visiting for the first time and give them a very unpleasant impression of us when they get their credit card bill.
