My brother purchased a 4 month-old tea-cup yorkie for himself and I in September. He purchased her from Canine Corral. That night we took her home she was sneezing and coughing here and there and was not eating to well. As each day went by, she got progressivley worse. We took her to the working vet of Canine corral and they diagnosed her with kennel cough and prescribed antibiotics. Three days went by on a Sunday night she was shaking, coughing turned into gagging and was dragging. We brought her to our emergency vet where they gave her an xray showing she had an enlarged heart along with the kennel cough. They suggested to hospitalize her being she has now had this for about 2 weeks and no progress on medicine. Canine Corral would not pay this vet, only there vet so we took her home. That one 1/2 of a night costed us $355.00. They increased the strength and dosage on her medication along with cough serium.
As each week came I was bringing her back and forth to there vet at least twice a week. They kept telling me "It takes a while to go away, it gets worse before it gets better, I have seen worse cases" I was calling Canine Corral every other day asking for the owner and manager whom was never available and never returned my calls. They gave me the run around, lies left and right. They told me they did not sell me a dog with kennel cough or heart problems, it developed from shipping stress from huntington to babylon. Finally, I forced them to hospitalize her in West Hills animal hospital. She was in pain, gagging and shaking. She went in on a Sunday and was supposed to come home on Friday. They gave us a problem, we couldnt come and see her, only 1 family memeber per day can call, and they were very vague with what was going on.
I received a phone call Tuesday night from a nurse saying my dog had died. The death was unknown, she was progressing well and they turned around and she was collopased in her cage. This was unacceptable to me, but we just got her 4 weeks ago. I was feeding her pills 3x's a day, cough syrup, chicken soup and vitamins galore. They said they tried everything and asked if I wanted to come see her, I said no but my brother may want to. I contacted my brother 2 hours later and he called them to come and see her and they told him he was too late. She was cremated. Everthing was fishy about this story, all the way from Canine Corral to west hills animal hospital.
The next day My brother and I went down to Canine Corral and demanded our money back along with speaking to the owner Ira. They told us he was not around and they can help. The store was being runned by a bunch of teenagers. We got into an argument with them stating they sold us a sick dog who we loved who died and the least they can do is let us speak to the owner. This was the most unproffesional business I have ever gone to. I Dont understand how they have been in business so long and would never purchase or refer anyone to buy a dog here. It is a dirty unsanitary enviroment. Please do not buy a dog from here, don't gp through what we did. It was absolutely heartbreaking along with a great deal of inconvienance.
