Complaint / review text:
I bought tickets 22 days in advance to see a comedian. The tickets were marked up by the seller but because the seats were so good I decided to give in and buy the 2 tickets, totaling over 180 dollars. I was charged immediately for these tickets and sent an e-mail confirming them but because they hadn't processed yet, I couldn't yet download them. I didn't have time to download them until the day of the show, about 4 hours in advance (thankfully I did it early enough)
The tickets were processed and all looked good to go. I was on the final page to click "download" and it said there was an "error" loading the page and to "try again in a few minutes" because they were "working to resolve the issue". I waited a few minutes, thought it was a site error but after refreshing, reloading and reattempting, the same screen came up. Mind you I never got 1 follow-up e-mail on these tickets besides the confirmation I bought them. So, I called them assuming it would be something they just had to fix on their end, I mean I was charged nearly 200 dollars 3 weeks prior, I didn't think they would take 180 of my hard earned dollars when they had no tickets... I was WRONG.
After calling them, being put on hold for nearly 20 minutes total and being yanked around the service rep said that there was an "error" on their end and they never received the tickets document from the seller and that they left a voicemail on the seller's phone number when I was on hold... I said Didn't you know you didn't have the tickets? How did you get it confused when you charged me nearly 200 dollars for things you couldn't vouch existed? She apologized and said it was their fault. (obviously..) And that they could get me similar tickets for the event, I thought this meant refunding my 180 in full and taking the hit because of their error and supplying me with tickets at no charge given the ridiculousness of the situation but nope... They just refunded me the difference between the two.
While at the event I was literally 2 seats away from the seats I was supposed to have and there were 2 people sitting in the seats I had bought for 180. CLEARLY these tickets were never held by Stubhub yet they hosted them, charged me and never alerted me about the issue. Their site even was misleading saying it should was a "temporarily unavailable" when I went to download the crap tickets. I'm just glad there were similar tickets available for this show; I bought these tickets as a gift and we got a hotel for the even and arranged driving I would have been even MORE livid.
I don't know how this all could happen and go unnoticed. I think they need to seriously re-assess the policies and procedures they have in place and need to treat their customers better. I received NO compensation for the time, stress and BS I had to put up with because of errors completely on their own end; how is that OK for a business to do that to their customers? What happened to honest business practices? There is no incentive for this type of BS to be fixed because the company didn't lost any money; therefore, it will never change.
Don't do business with these crooks you are better off finding tickets on Craigslist if you want tickets from a seller.
