I purchased three front row tickets to the Dec. 1 Cotto v Trout fight for approximately $5,000 (nearly three times face value). I received the tickets in early November and my tickets were paid in full. The front of the ticket has what appears to be a purchase and/or print date of November 5. Two days before the event, we received an URGENT! Email from StubHub that we needed to contact them. The representative said that MSG made a mistake and printed the tickets twice, which invalidated my original tickets but that the seller was sending the exact same tickets via federal express. When the tickets arrived the night before the fight, my tickets were now new (and worse) seats. The purchase/print date on the new tickets was November 29. I called StubHub to explain that once the transaction was complete (i.E., the offer for the tickets had been accepted and they accepted by payment), those tickets were mine and not available to be resold. They refused to do anything about the situation other than to refund the StubHub commission. I've now paid an outrageous price to be stuck in corner seats (Seats 1,2 and 3) for a fight. I repeated asked for confirmation that this was in fact an MSG error but the Manager Nina said that they could not do that and that they could only rely on the sellers word., They also refused to put me in contact with the seller, provide contact information and so forth so I could handle myself. If two tickets are sold for the same seats, I would think it is either fraud or an honest mistake such that the person who first purchased the tickets would be the rightful owner. This feels very wrong and I'm left without any support from Stubhub to get the problem resolved.
