A coworker of mine was recently asked to fill in for a supervisory roll at this casino. During the course of his shift, he has a confrontation with a female employee regarding proper procedures for dealing cards. After several minutes of trying to explain the company's policy to her he had to get very firm and "lay down the law" so to speak.
To exact her revenge, this female decided that the fact that my coworker had referred to her as "hon" at some point prior to that constituted sexual harassment and went to one of the managers with this false accusation. It should be noted here that "hon" is a term tossed around routinely by the employees of the casino and literally every employee currently working there has been recorded on camera at least once referring to another coworker or customer in this fashion.
The manager, who is well aware of the aggressive nature of the "offended" employee and also of the use of the term "hon" went ahead and wrote up my coworker. He is now up for an unwarranted performance review, has been pulled off of a $17.50 an hour supervisory position "until further notice" and has a permanent mark on his record. It should be noted here that this manager also referred to my coworker as "hon" at least twice in a conversation later that very same day.
Obviously this casino is incapable of effectively managing it's own employees and upholds highly damaging dishonesty, and amongst it's own employees at that. I shudder to think what kinds of schemes they're pulling over their clientele.
