Musicians Beware!
After a show we did in Laconia NH we were approached by an employee from Papa Blues (Don) asking us if we had a demo.
The band I play in needed to record a demo a.S.A.P.
So on his recommendation I called the studio the next day & made an appointment with the owner. We (the band) were talked in to spending $600.00 upfront to reserve time.
At the first & only session the band got there over 1 hour early just to be ready to go at 9pm. It took the sound tech over 1.5 hours just to get the system working, we recorded 3 songs over & over & every time the tech either forgot to record the drums — guitar or something! And at the end of the session he didn't even have any cd's to burn us a copy of our work? When we did get a copy the mix was worse then using a Fostex 4 track.
We finally got so aggravated with the tech that we called it quits. I contacted the owner the next day to get a refund & 3 months later he still will not return our calls or refund our money.
After we got ripped off, we found out through talking to other bands that he does this all the time to bands & musicians & has a very bad local reputation.
If you go to this studio you will get ripped off! If you don't believe me give them a call (603-286-8444) set up some studio time and see for yourself.
