Texas Ballet Theater
When you pay premium prices for a ballet, they did not tell us there would be no orchestra

We made a big financial sacrifice to go to Dallas and see this wonderful production of The Nutcracker Ballet.

Paid big bucks too.

I checked the site before we went to make sure the production had not been canceled.
November 27 December 6 at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas, TEXASThe Winspear is supposed to have wonderful accoustics and great seating and I wanted to see a show there since the Winspear was built after I left Dallas.
After a long ride, we were going to the show only to find that the musicians who were supposed to be accompanying the dancers were outside with signs. The musicians were telling us that THEY HAD BEEN REPLACED WITH A TAPE RECORDING!

The joy of seeing a live ballet is hearing a live orchestra! Otherwise, i can stay home and see my video with the bolshoi ballet and not have to make the trip to dallas worrying whether or not my car will die along the road.

Dress Circle$29.00
Mezzanine$59.00
Orchestra Terrace$79.00
Orchestra$89.00
Corps Circle$99.00
Box Circle Bronze$89.00
Box Circle Silver$99.00
Box Circle Gold$109.00

There is a cheaper ticket for about $20 PER SEAT but this was supposed to be a special HOLIDAY EVENT!
WHICH WAS RUINED. WE SOLD THE TICKETS AT A LOSS AND THEN WE WENT HOME OUT OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE MUSICIANS.

If they had told us on their web site that there would only be recorded music and i would not have bought the tickets or wasted the gasoline or had the nice outfits to watch this dress rehearsal. I did not go.

If you want to enjoy live music with your ballet watching, then do not patronize this production. You are paying for live music which you will not be getting that that is the rip-off!

Expensive price to pay to see what amounts to a dress rehearsal.

No, we will not go to any more productions! Musicians have to eat too.
