I rented and returned Bride Wars from a Red Box on the way to a friends house. I watched it and then returned it to that same Red Box on the way home.
Twenty-six days later...
I realize I've been charged $25 for not returning the DVD. I called in and the woman put me on hold for about ten minutes when I told her my story. After coming back on the phone, she let me know that since I hadn't had any history of such activity, she'd "courtesy refund" my account. She also told me it was most likely a computer error.
A computer error that causes you to charge my account $25?
Also... She didn't refund me because I had returned the film, she "COURTESY refund"-ed me, as if it were a favor. The money won't be back in my account for 3-5 business days.
Please, please watch your bank accounts when you take out Red Box movies. I can imagine this has happened to others and they are still unaware of it.
