Empire Talent and Modeling Agency owner Marisa Sclafani is a con artist. She told me that my children were going to make it in the talent industry right away cause of how cute they are. That I would be called for auditions within a couple of days. After i heard that i was so excited that i signed a contract with her to employ a professional photographer and gave her a down payment of $400 for the photographers to take my two sons pictures. Remember that was just a down payment the actual cost of everything was $1200 which i eventually paid off within a few months. After i gave her the money i knew something was up when i didn't hear from her for 2 months. When i eventually called her she assured me that this was how the talent industry is and that she would call me as soon as something was available. I didn't hear from her again and i called her over and over cause i knew at that point that this was a huge scam. I then took matters into my own hands and started investigating where that money went..
When i started investigating i contacted the photographer myself and found out that she signed a contract with Marisa stating that she was not allowed to tell any of Marisa's clients how much she was paid. I knew at this point that she pocketed the money that i gave to her and only gave the photographers a percentage. After numerous phone calls and e-mails i finally got in touch with the photographers partner who hadn't signed the contract with Marisa and she was able to tell me how much they were really paid. She told me that they only recieved $50 for both boys and that included the the photo shoot and the pictures (THATS $25 FOR EACH BOY)..
When i found this out i called Marisa right away and she told me that it was a bunch of lies but yet she wouldn't tell me how much she really paid them. She said it was none of my buisness and that i was crazy for believing the photographers. She insulted me over and over when i had done nothing wrong. The whole time before i found this out i never heard from her unless i called her again and again. She always seemed to be out of the office or in a meeting and would never call me back. This was a matter of 7 months that nothing happened with my boys being in auditions. So now she has my $1,150, that she still denies she scammed from me, and says that it was for finding a photographer. When she told me that all the money was for the photographers to begin with. She told me this probably 15 to 20 times and i believed her. Besides why would it cost $1,150 to find a photographer?
Marisa will tell you that she doesn't get any of that money for finding a photographer and that she only gets paid if you get paid. I urge you don't believe her lies or you could loose your money too.
