I frequently buy tickets from online sites.in the corner of my eye I noticed that LiveNation concert tickets occasionally have a "special" offer of Rolling Stone magazine subscriptions for 12.95 for the first year. What was unclear to me was that it is built into the price supposedly, there is no breakdown on my receipt, no way to opt out without requesting a rebate (from a website that was down at the time of this writing). Also, I started receiving blender magazine from them as well (I know its from them because they screwed up my address on both subscriptions). Talking to other people they have also started receiving these magazines without their explicit permission, and according to the website they will be automatically renewed with 30 days notice to cancel.
I wanted to buy concert tickets, thats it. Not some shitty half-rate magazine. They NEED to have a way to opt-out on purchase, or need to clearly indicate on the receipt what portion is being charged to the magazine. I could not even clearly track which purchase started these magazine subscriptions. So if it is only for new customers, and I bought multiple sets of tickets that had this "offer", are my tickets pricing in 13 dollars extra for something I am not eligible for? There is no clarity whatsoever, just this unhelpful link http://promo. Livenation.com/rollingstone / on the livenation site, which points to wennermedia link which is down at the time of this writing. On rolling stone's website, the subscription services also go to wennermedia which is down, so I cannot unsubscribe either.
What they are doing is disgusting, and its fraud, and there are hundreds of thousands of people that are probably getting these magazines now and won't know what happened for 11 months when they may or may not learn that Rolling Stone is trying to rebill them for a magazine they didn't know they bought.
If you are a victim of this fraud, please post here. And if you are a lawyer and you can do something to make this right for the hundreds of thousands of victims, add me to the top of your list. I have every invoice, every e-mail receipt and nowhere does it mention any magazines, except when you buy the tickets. If this wasn't intended to trick people, they would put the information on the receipts or order history. Shame on you LiveNation. I already pay excess fees to use your service, and this is how you reward your customers.
