I took a job at Broken Sound Productions (they now called themselves 463 Media, and have also gone by Haile Video Group) in Gainesville, FL, but it only took me a few weeks to realize IT WAS ALL A GIANT SCAM! I thought I was taking a job as a television producer, but all I ever did was cold call companies to ask for money and products, for our "tv shows."
In the entire time I worked there, NO PRODUCTION WORK EVER TOOK PLACE. When I would ask when production for these shows would start I was constantly told "next week" but it never happened. Many times when I would call a business to ask about featuring products on one of our shows, the person on the phone would become enraged because they had already given us money and/or products, and then never heard a word about it.
If you EVER receive a call from this company be aware this is a big giant SCAM! NONE of their shows, which they are now calling "Excursions" and "Homestyles" ever air on TV! Instead they take your money and you never hear back from them, or they take your products and sell them on EBAY! Furthermore if you are looking to do contract work for this company, such as shoot segments, do post production work etc. Be wary because YOU WILL NOT GET PAID!
I would get countless calls a day from production companies who had done contract work, and NEVER RECEIVED ANY MONEY. When I would ask my bosses (Eric, David and Larry warm, all brothers) about this, they would say "we already paid those people", or "they did a terrible job", or the most common, "just put them through to my voice mail."
THIS WAS THE JOB FROM HELL, because I would constantly have to answer the phone to angry people who had been scammed, and my bosses would never fix the problem. They did not provide employees with computers, or give them any script or leads for making these calls. Then they would yell at you if you didn't get expensive enough products, or enough of a product because all they wanted was alot of expensive stuff to sell and make money! They had a room full of products, they would let their wives and kids come and pick through.
IF you are considering employment with them be aware you will NOT be a television producer, nor will you get ANY of the commission you are promised at the time of hire, on money or products you get in. At the time i worked there a very hard working employee was fired without any notice or reason, and the only excuse they gave was "we're not sure what direction the company is going in."
I have met other people who were employed there after me, and they too were both fired, and NEVER GOT A DOLLAR OF COMMISSION! This seems like a nice family business as it is run by three brothers and their father (STeven Warm, who is an attorney), it is in an attractive office, and everything seems completely legitimate from the exterior.
However, All of these men are nothing more than LYING, CHEATING, SCAMMERS! It's sad because they all have young children, and I can only imagine the morals they are instilling in them. This all being said do not work for them, do not work with them, do not give them any of your money, products etc. You will regret it!
