I have recently joined the growing ranks of consumers ripped off by Michael Walker at VDO Specialties. I paid VDO $180 to install a chip in my Playstation 2 console. After sending in my system, I waited nine weeks before VDO sent me an e-mail saying they could not work on it because it was a "version one." I told them to refund my money and send the system back, but when the console arrived in the mail, VDO had attached an IOU instead of a refund.
When I contacted the BBB, Walker sent me an e-mail saying he was filing a libel lawsuit against me, asking for $5000. He said he would charge a $35 bench fee, $15 for not including an "RMA number, " whatever that means, not to mention $25 for shipping. As if this was not enough of a blatant case of fraud, Walker has not sent any refund at all. This bench fee business is ridiculous, but to attach an IOU to a business receipt is plain repugnant. Even if Walker refunds me minus these other charges, he will still be making a profit.
I know that since Walker is bankrupt, asking him for ones money back is like trying to get blood from a stone. If anyone knows how I can get him to refund me, please let me know.
