They sent terribly defective disks and will not pay the postage to return them to China. We paid original postage from somewhere in the US

I ordered a set of dvd's from this internet company in June. Several of the series were defective, but when I contacted them over email (they have no phone or address listed) they said they wanted us to watch the entire 25 disks before they would replace them. We complained and said it would be a pain to watch all of these disks, as the shows are no fun to watch, proceeding in order, and that they either blank out or get completely blurry half-way through. They would not take no for an answer.

They were cordial, but went the rounds with us about how they would not be expected to watch them before sending; they wanted us to watch them and be their testing audience, it seemed. Finally, we said all 25 were bad, and that we would like either a replacement or a complete refund.

In August, after going back and forth with them on email about these disks and how to return them, they agreed to just send 12 replacement disks just "to see" how they looked. This took weeks to get here. Finally, they came from China in a padded envelope. We watched them, and although a few were ok, most of them were un-watchable, looked like someone had taken a video of a show they were watching on tv.

When I contacted the company to ask for a refund, they said that we would have to send the disks back to China, and suggested they would not pay for the postage by offering us a deal — the deal is that they will give us $50 to keep the defective disks, so we will not have to pay the expensive postage to China. The cost of the disks was $90 plus we had paid postage for the original set of disks — $14.00. I complained in an email that this was totally unfair, and they said they would give us $60. I complained in the next email that we felt this was unfair — the disks are defective and we would like a complete refund plus whatever the postage cost is to China.

Presently, after I asked them this, they did not reply. So they are asking us to take a $40 loss on their defective product! They are so far being very hard-headed — asking us to send the disks back to China or else they will not give us a refund. Again — the postage is very expensive, so it is very unfair of them to do this to us, not providing a US address.
