I thought I would have to sign up to keep getting a subscription I had just renewed

I signed up with Family Readers Club because I got the impression that I wouldn't get the magizine subscription I had recently renewed. When I called their corporate office to cancel I was told I only had tewenty days after the signup date to cancel. Later that day I was called buy the company and given the option to 'terminate my subscription' for $399.95. I paid it but, I still recieved the magizines in the mail and was still charged the $49.95 per month. When I called to ask why I was still being charged and getting the magizines I was told the $399.95 was so my subscription wouldn't be automatically be renewed at the end of the current term.

Recently I was called to reduce the current monthly charge. I took them up on it but, it turnes out I either extened my term or signed up for a completely different account. I've called the corporate office to cancel this one but they 'have no record' of it at all.
