I bought Ticketmaster tickets to the MoNique comedy show, set for 10/27 at 8pm. At 8:35 P.M. it still had not begun, even though we got there at 7:40pm to be on time. While we waited before the show, many guests, me included, told MoNique's entertainment staff that the loud music was like a 17-year-old in the next car showing off with nothing but bass. It hurt our ears and caused actual ear pain and a headache. They would not turn the sound down when we asked. After 55 minutes of this noise torture, we left.
I contacted Ticketmaster on the following business day, and their policy is no refund once the event has passed. Had we known beforehand that the event would be so unbearably late and would damage our ears, we would of course have asked for a refund in advance. I think it is time people stood up to monopolies like Ticketmaster and the "artists" who take money from patrons and exploit them, subjecting them to noise abuse and a very late appearance. I personally will never use Ticketmaster and its price gouging again.
