Eastside Motor Sports sells and rents 4-wheelers, dirt bikes and doom-buggies.
My boyfriend and I simply wanted to rent a doom-buggy. Saturday November 12th, we stop in Eastside MS. The guy tells us it's $100 for 8 hour rental, with a $500 deposit.
Ok, sounds good and we began paper work. Then they ask for our credit card to put a hold on the $500... Ok.
We load up the rental, look at it and point out all the defects. The kid okays everything, tells us to have fun and he will see us in 8 hours.
After all the fun of riding is over, we take the rental back, on time and the guy who said he would be there was not. The other kid who was there checked out the rental and said "yeah, it looks great" Then said he could not refund the money because he simply did not know how to use the credit card machine. So, we agreed to come back on Monday and get our refund.
Monady evening my boyfriend goes to get the deposit. Im at work, he calls me and says I might be in trouble the cops are here! Im like WHAT?! Then he starts to tell me a quick version of the story.
He walked in to get the depoist. The kid at the counter said let me go get the manager. A huge 6ft. Gorilla comes out from the back and started acusing him of damage done to the rental. (hello its a rental! We are not the only ones who drove it!)
My boyfriend the starts to get upset, the guy refunds $390... Not $500. They did not put a hold on the card they ran the card for 607.80! We only get back 390?! So, he decides to leave and just thought - ill call the credit card co. And tell them what happened.
He goes back inside after he realizes they gave him no receipt and tried to keep the copy of his DL and credit card. When he asked for it back, the guy said f* you punk get out of my store! My boyfriend said no you are not allowed to keep that kind of info. The guy grabs him and tosses him around the store. My boyfriend knocks over some merchandise in the figbt.
He goes outside and calls the cops. They came, went inside and got all of our paper work back, told us it was not the first time they have had problems with these guys (which would have been helpful to know) and to call our credit card people and cancel the transaction.
My boyfriend comes home, he has huge bumps on his legs, abrasions on his neck, where the guy choked him, and his clothes we all ripped up!!!
The credit card people were informed and gave a temporary credit of 607.80 but will need to investigate the issue. Its now December 2nd. Still under investigation and we really wanted to inform you of this company.
So, please if you think about renting anything please do a background check on the rip-off-report website and make sure you shop, buy, and rent from the very best.
