I thought that there were just some bad apples giving this company some flack. I rented a house from them. They ARE NOT A GOOD COMPANY! Here's why:
—it's such a big company that no one knows anyone else's job, even in general terms. Leasing agents only know leases, the secretary only knows how to get you to fill out an application, maintenance only knows how to fill out requests, etc. Trying to work something out from A to Z with them takes contacting 3-4 people every time. And no one's in their office taking calls..
—they advertised garbage included in rent, then refused to give it to us even though the agent admitted it WAS in the ad, but that 'it was a mistake.' If you don't follow up on that, then it's called "false advertising" and it's illegal!
—even maintenance emergencies aren't dealt with promptly: electrical problems, which can cause fires, in our house weren't taken care of in even 24-hours. Repeated calls to both maintenance (who said to our incredulous statement "it could cause a fire" — "call the fire department") and the maint sup finally led to them throwing the fuses back on (I was out of town), but I came back a few days later to over half the house out. Jury's still out on what's wrong.
—the agent that shows you the house has no more dealings with you once you fill out an application. Hello obscurity!
—the 24-hr maintenance company you have to call keeps no record of you so you have to restate everything about you every time... And they have closed several of my "tickets" without completing the work. I told the supervisor — her solution? Submit another ticket!
Keep in mind I am just a tenant. But I can't say strongly enough: DON'T USE THIS COMPANY for renting on either side!
