Food service revolution
You are being ripped off by UGA food services you are paying to much for what you think you are getting if you are a vegetarian or vegan be careful uga is not following correct procedures for your food there are sauces and ways that food is prepared that adds meat to your food they do not care about your food or your decision to be vegetarian a lot of you food is fried in the same oil as meat has been cooked. They use no vegetarian fryer so if you get things off the line like fries they will have been cooked in meat. Also the food standards to make the meal good and healthy is not followed they do not have any fruit hardly that is not in some sweet sauce or liquid and sometimes they add more sugar to a persons taste that is making the food. The nutritional info will be wrong. Also food that is left over for the most part is not going to Full Plate that gives waste or leftover food to homeless shelters and food pantrys is not being used they throw the food away if it is not going to be used i have personally seen a lot of food thrown in the dumpsters and into the food disposal because they did not want uga food administration to know how much food has been thrown away they lie about the amount of food cooked or thrown away with managers permission they do not want the directors of food services to know about how much food is being thrown away.
Sanitation is only followed strictly when a health inspector is due to come other times they are very lax.
Students that work for uga foodservice can not replace good part time workers they do not care as much or have the experience to be working with reliability or dependability. They had rather be studying at the ice cream station or sitting out at the tables than doing great customer service.
Students paying 5000.00 or so for a meal plan should get great customer service and sometimes that is not the case especially at snelling dinning commons.
Students beware of uga foodservice and you can get better food in town than buying a meal plan.
Meal plans have sold less this year than any other year why because the food is bad!!! The recipes suck and have not really been changed in 30 years just ask students why they do not eat at the dinning halls snelling used to be the best food now the food quality has plumeted!
I know all this because i work for uga foodservice and see it every day.
Make uga foodservice better complain and do not take no for an answer.
They only listen to students not workers or cooks so make you food experience better at uga by complaining to jeannie fry or michael floyd
