I moved here almost 3 months ago, turned in my california license for a nebraska license. I tried to get my car resigtered in this state, and was unable to. I was stopped by an officer hobbs, and a rookie unknown name on 6/6/03. When the officer came to my vechile i asked why i was being stopped he said i was speeding, before i was stopped i was going 34mph. He said i was going 44 in a 35mph zone.
When he asked for my resigtration i told him, that i was in the process of getting, and my insurance is from a company in california. When i was getting my paper work from my trunk both the officer put there hands on there guns, and were about to pull there weapons on me, since i work for a local security company and i was in uniform. I became a little scared when officer hobbs hand started shaking on his gun, i told him, i have it, but there is no need for this. He gave me a ticket, and told me the day i have to goto court.
Since i just want to get out of this town, and back to my family its becoming impossible to do so. I see cops driving around my neighor hood staring at the house im staying at, and they go to my work waiting to see if they can catch me go home. Like last nite - early morning, i and another guard were outside i saw a norfolk pd. Car black out and pull into a car lot next to where i work at, when i made myself known to this unknown officer he put his light on me and took off.
Since i have to go to court next month on 7-10-03 from now till then who knows what can happen. I feel like quiting my job, collecting my checks, and leaving without going to court. I have no past record of any kind. And the cops over here think just cause im from california that i have no rights as a person. And i know this first hand.
This morning 6-9-03 i called to see if i could just pay this ticket so i can get out of here, i was told i had to goto court and if i didnt within 3 day following 7-10-03 a warrent will be issued out for my arrest. The county attorney wouldnt return my calls, i talked to a lady, 'refused' to give her name. Said they was going to be an example. They r going to take my license, impound my vehicle, and dig me straight into the ground.
I contacted Nebraska's DMV located in Lincoln, Ne. And i was told this is a county matter, since madison county refuses to give me a call back, and they keep hanging up on me. I guess i will go into hiding. Btw i quit my job today, and the person who hired me, ran out of the office before i got there, so he wouldnt have to see me.
The owner of the company i did work for, told me, that once a cop (s) have an eye on you, they be there so you'll mess up.
And as far as speeding goes, i saw a car doing about 50 on the 275 near the 81 going east bound while an officer was going west bound, the officer made a u-turn, checked the plates of this vehicle, and didnt even stop the person who was speeding. And to think Nebraska, has a sign proclaiming this as the
Good Life.
